I’m forever updating my home screen so that my phone helps me do what I want to do. In my case, that’s to spend more time reading rather than endlessly scrolling Instagram.

• Reeder is how I keep track of the handful of blogs I like

• Signal is a secure messaging app

• TunnelBear is how I stop the government from stalking me
